SU Scotland: Source
Helping young people explore God’s Word for themselves
Scripture Union Scotland approached us to refresh a trusted resource designed to help get young people talking about Scripture.
Source was a simple five-question framework that can be applied to any Bible passage to help young people explore and engage with God’s Word for themselves. This tried-and-tested method was already being used around the world in Bible studies and one-to-one contexts—but the format, look and feel was in need of new energy and life.
So, our brief was to develop a visual identity, messaging and supporting media that would be engaging, accessible and attractive to children and young people. We responded by developing a dynamic and confident visual identity for the suite of resources which combines a bold serif font with a playful graphic system that uses intuitive symbols to guide and enhance the Bible study experience: Highlight, Question, Insight, Theme and Action.
We then developed a suite of resources that provide young people and youth leaders with the tools they need to study any Bible passage, anywhere: including a guide for leaders, a bookmark and pocket overview for young people to carry with them, and an animated explainer video to walk them through the ‘Source’ Bible study experience.
