Helping the next generation understand God’s big story
The Bible is a book like no other: 66 smaller books written in three languages and many genres, all fitting together as one big story. Scripture Union Scotland approached us to conceive, develop, produce and deliver a new 10-part video series that helps young people get to grips with the big picture of the Bible and discover what it means for their lives today.
Our brief was challenging: to develop a resource that was faithful to God’s Word and clearly communicated the key truths of Scripture, while being accessible, fun and engaging for non-Christian young people who have had little exposure to Christianity.
We worked closely with Scripture Union Scotland to develop a concept, creative direction and script that met these criteria. Through our research and development process, we worked to establish an approach that would resonate with a Generation Alpha audience: avoiding anything that would feel gimmicky or disingenuous and instead embracing a tone that was authentic, straight-talking and no-nonsense.
Our approach combined narration from two presenters in a stripped-back studio setting with striking motion graphics and an immersive soundscape that helped bring the Biblical story to life. From creative direction and set-design to filming and post-production, we were responsible for delivering the project from conception to execution. The whole series is available for youth groups, teachers and leaders to access online, and has already helped hundreds of young people journey through the story of Scripture.
